John T. Buhler
President & CEO
Mr. Buhler holds extensive healthcare industry and business leadership expertise stemming from a 33-year career with RF Surgical Systems, Inc., Natus Medical Inc., SenoRx Inc., Ultrasonix, GE Healthcare and Diasonics-VingMed Ultrasound. Mr. Buhler has a proven track record of building and leading successful world–class business teams that consistently achieve strong financial performance, operational efficiency and customer loyalty.
Mr. Buhler earned his B.S. degrees in Business Administration and Human Resources at Dominican College, Blauvelt, New York as well a degree in Electrical Technology from the State University of New York at Orange County. Mr. Buhler has also completed the Executive Management Development Program (EMBA equivalent) at General Electric’s Educational Center in Crotonville, New York.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Markovich has served as Chief Financial Officer in the healthcare and technology industries for nearly 25 years where he assisted rapidly-growing public and private services and manufacturing companies develop through all phases of maturity. He has directed the finance, accounting, tax, M&A, legal, operations, IR, HR and IT functions for companies ranging from privately-held pre-revenue startups to a NYSE-listed Fortune 500 multi-national company with over $1.2 billion in annual revenue. During his career, Mr. Markovich has negotiated and closed over 125 debt, equity, M&A and JV transactions exceeding $1.8 billion in value, including a $95 million IPO and over a dozen private placements, while assisting companies develop scalable infrastructures and prepare for exits. In addition, He has extensive international experience and has negotiated financing and commercial transactions in nearly 20 countries.
Mr. Markovich holds a BS in business from Miami University, an MBA from Michigan State University and is a graduate of Stanford University’s Financial Management Program.
Ajay A. Bhave
Chief Technology Officer
Ajay A. Bhave joined OmniGuide Surgical, Inc., in August 2016 as the Vice President of Operations. Mr. Bhave has over 32 years’ experience as an Engineering, Technology and Operations leader mostly in the medical device industry. During his career, Mr. Bhave has been instrumental in releasing over 30 new medical products in the global market, achieved $30M+ savings via value engineering & supplier driven productivity and has been involved with 8 successful acquisitions. Mr. Bhave most recently served as the Corporate Vice President of Global Engineering and a Company Officer at Natus Medical Inc., wherein he was responsible for all aspects of new product development from concept to commercial release to end of life. From 1990 to 2011, Mr. Bhave held various positions of responsibilities, starting as an acoustic design engineer with subsequent senior management positions in engineering & technology, supply chain management and plant operations, both at the local as well as global level at General Electric Healthcare. From 1988 to 1990, Mr. Bhave was a senior engineer responsible for medical probes development at Staveley Sensors Inc., based out of Hartford, CT. From 1984 to 1988, Mr. Bhave was a senior engineer responsible for design and applications development of ultrasound probes used for non-destructive testing (NDT).
Mr. Bhave holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lowell, Massachusetts.
Vice President, R&D – OmniGuide Surgical
Dr. Vladimir Fuflyigin joined OmniGuide in 2002. During his tenure at OmniGuide he has overseen photonic crystal fiber technology development from its early stage definition to productization for both ENT and GYN markets.
Prior to joining OmniGuide, Dr. Fuflyigin worked in R&D leadership positions in several high-tech start-up companies. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Materials Science from Moscow State University and has executive certification in Technology Management from the MIT Sloan School of Business. He has authored and co-authored a number of patents dealing with design, fabrication and applications of hollow core fiber and relevant instrumentation.
Vice President, R&D – Domain Surgical
Mr. Eggers has over 30 years of experience in the development and marketing of leading edge medical devices. Prior to Domain Surgical, Mr. Eggers was Vice President of Research and Development for ZEVEX International (now Moog), responsible for the research and development of intravenous infusion systems, pain management pumps, enteral nutrition delivery systems, surgical handpieces for cataract and neurosurgery, and OEM medical sensor subassemblies. Prior to Moog, Mr. Eggers was the Vice President of Research and Development of CardioNet from 2000 to 2004, a successful start-up company that pioneered mobile cardiac outpatient telemetry. Prior to CardioNet, Mr. Eggers was Vice President of Research and Development at Alaris Medical Systems from 1991 to 2000, where he conceived and executed the development of the Medley Patient Management System for infusion therapy. Earlier in his career, he held various senior product development leadership positions including Research and Development Manager at Critikon, where he developed innovative infusion devices, and Berkley BioEngineering. He holds 12 issued U.S. patents with over 20 pending applications.
Mr. Eggers received a BA in Physics from the University of Colorado in 1978 and an MBA from Santa Clara University in 1990.
Vice President of Global Marketing & Business Development
John M. Barnhill joined OmniGuide Holdings, Inc. in October 2016 as Vice President of Global Marketing & Business Development. Prior to joining OmniGuide, Mr. Barnhill held a similar position with RF Surgical, Inc., an early-stage medical technology company that was recently acquired by Medtronic. Prior to that, Barnhill was with Edwards Lifesciences where in over 10 years he held several positions of increasing responsibility including Product Management, New Product Development, Clinical Marketing, Corporate Strategy and Business Development. Mr. Barnhill also held a marketing leadership position with SenoRx, where he grew the company’s breast cancer therapy portfolio, contributing to the successful exit of the company.
Mr. Barnhill holds a B.A. in Business Finance from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and an MBA from the University of California Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business.
