Precision Surgery with the BeamPath™ GYN
Gynecological surgery requires a tool with the highest degree of control and maneuverability. OmniGuide®’s BeamPath GYN product line offers a technological breakthrough that enables the safe and precise treatment of genital warts (condyloma) and cervical dysplasia.
What is condyloma?
Condyloma, more commonly referred to as genital warts, refers to wart-like, non-cancerous (benign) growths caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). The human papillomas virus is one of the most common causes of sexually transmitted disease. In women, condyloma often occurs on the outside and inside of the vagina, on the opening to the uterus (cervix), and around the anus.
What is cervical dysplasia?
Cervical dysplasia refers to abnormal tissue growth in the cervix caused by an HPV infection in the cervix. If left untreated, cervical dysplasia may turn into cervical cancer.
Surgical Treatment of Condylomas and Cervical Dysplasia
Surgical intervention is often required to treat condyloma and cervical dysplasia. Surgeons choose the BeamPath GYN flexible fiber because it offers hand-held delivery of CO2 laser energy. This is particularly useful for treatment of tissue in the hard to access cervix. The BeamPath GYN fiber delivers a safe and precise energy source which may lead you to faster healing and less postoperative pain.
Why OmniGuide BeamPath?
Surgeons use the BeamPath GYN system because it delivers a precise energy source (CO2 laser energy) that allows for precise, layer-by-layer removal of diseased tissue, preserving underlying healthy tissue. The flexibility of the BeamPath fiber allows surgeons to deliver CO2 laser energy in otherwise difficult-to-reach places. The fiber’s ease of use and the superficial nature of CO2 laser energy allow some gynecological procedures to be performed in an office-based setting rather than in the operating room. If a surgeon decides it is best to treat a patient’s condyloma or cervical dysplasia in an office-based setting, he/she applies topical anesthesia and treats the patient awake. This avoids hospital admission and the need for general anesthesia.
The OmniGuide Commitment
OmniGuide is committed to continuously enhancing the quality of care you receive from your surgeon. OmniGuide aims to improve your surgical outcome by offering your surgeon a no-touch, precision microsurgical instrument – the BeamPath flexible CO2 laser scalpel.
