Head & Neck
Advanced solutions for microsurgical approaches.
BeamPath® ENT products provide Head and Neck surgeons with the precision of CO2 laser in a hand-held device for oral cavity, oropharyngeal, and laryngeal resections. The system's intuitive design allows for improved access, increased precision and control in and around complex anatomical structures, enhancing minimally invasive approaches for improved outcomes.
HOW IT WORKS
Minimally Invasive Access
- Safe and precise delivery of laser energy via OmniGuide’s custom hand pieces, rigid bronchoscope, flexible endoscope or in conjunction with the robotic system
Predictable and Precise Tissue Interaction
- High absorption of CO2 laser in water results in predictable and controlled tissue interaction with lateral thermal effect of approximately 0.15mm
- Electrosurgical energy causes a less predictable thermal spread and a tissue effect that is approximately 10x greater1
Controlled Depth of Penetration
- The divergent laser beam facilitates easy and rapid depth control by adjusting distance to tissue
- Hemostatic cutting is achieved at close distances, while ablation and coagulation are achieved at farther distances
POTENTIAL BENEFITS INCLUDE
Improved Surgical Efficacy
- Improved access near difficult-to-reach anatomy, contoured anatomy2,3
- Minimal thermal trauma improves confidence in obtaining negative margins4
Easier Histological Assessment
- Smaller coagulation zone and width of injury makes it easier to assess resection margins 3,5
Fast Patient Recovery, Return to Normal Diet2
- Low degree of post-operative swelling and scarring 4,5
- Good swallowing function and low need for tracheostomy, G-tubes5,6
