OmniGuide®’s BeamPath™ fiber system has revolutionized the landscape of minimally invasive surgery by enabling flexible, portable delivery of CO₂ laser energy.  The BeamPath fiber solves the problem of flexibly guiding CO₂ laser light by utilizing an innovative photonic band gap mirror lining around a hollow core. This near perfect mirror combines the precision of CO₂ laser energy with the control of a hand-held flexible fiber to expand the reach of minimally invasive surgery.

Line-of-sight CO₂ laser systems are cumbersome, often large and coupled to unwieldy s articulating arms up to two meters in length. The BeamPath technology replaces this with a compact laser system that significantly increases both the surgeon and his/her OR staff’s ease of use.

The flexibility of the fiber and custom designed handpieces ensure access to difficult to reach anatomical regions that could not be previously treated using a line of sight CO₂ laser. The fiber’s streamlined design allows for high visibility of target tissue. The hollow core of the fiber delivers a constant flow of inert gas that clears the surgical field of blood and debris, improves coagulation, and minimizes tissue heating. The fiber can be delivered with OmniGuide’s custom handpieces or through the working channel of a flexible or rigid endoscope.
