CLINICAL OBSERVATION: Excision of Endometriosis using CO₂ Laser Energy

Objectives & Overview

Multiple energy modalities exist for the treatment of endometriosis and challenging pelvic dissection.  This course will familiarize attendees with the use of CO₂ Laser Technology for complete excision of endometriosis.  Upon completion participants will improve their understanding how to use CO₂ laser to treat endometriosis laparoscopically.

Target Audience

Minimally invasive gynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists and urogynecologists performing laparoscopic endometriosis.

O.R. Visitation Program

Dr. Nutis graciously opens his O.R. to visiting minimally invasive gynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists and urogynecologists interested in learning about the use of CO₂ laser technology in the treatment of endometriosis. Dr. Nutis typically hosts visits on the 3rd week of a given month, but can be flexible to accommodate different schedules.

Dr. Nutis is from the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez area. He graduated medical school from the University of Juarez School Of Medicine in 1998. Dr. Nutis then completed his Family Medicine residency at Texas Tech El Paso in 2003. He decided to pursue a career in women’s health, and completed a second residency in Obstetrics-Gynecology at Texas Tech El Paso in 2006. Dr. Nutis furthered his training by completing a fellowship in Laparoscopic Gynecologic Surgery through the AAGL at Stanford University in 2007. Dr. Nutis is the Medical Director for the First Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology in Texas, created in 2011. With an abiding interest in the academic side of medicine, Dr. Nutis has also co-authored three textbooks, several articles, abstracts, and editorials. His research interests include understanding infertility and its relation to endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. He has published several videos about surgical procedures for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
